Extending Primo with Custom Services

Event

Developer Meets Developer, Jerusalem, November 2010

Date

November 4, 2010

Presenter

Mark Dehmlow, University of Notre Dame (USA)

Abstract

For the past year, we have been looking at ways to customize the Primo front end with locally developed services while still relying heavily on the out of the box implementation of Primo. Because Primo is developed in the J2EE framework, it is possible to extend the default environment significantly. This presentation will focus on how we have brought custom external services into Primo using java, ajax, and web services. We will also show through our implementation of Jacob Hannan's Primo tabs wiki contribution, the importance of community contributions to EL Commons.
