cron_marcit.cgi http://www.exlibrisgroup.org/download/attachments/26739622/cron_marcit.cgi is a PERL script that automates the activation of the marcit process so that marcit can be cronned. It interacts with the SFX Admin web interface in much the same way that library staff do. This way if Ex Libris changes the underlying scripts, the process continues to work. In theory, you could modify this to run with the manual export, but this particular instance is set up to run with a profile.

The Small URL Service for SFX uses a combination of AJAX and a locally installed cgi script to dynamically grab a small URL from a URL truncation service. While this example uses TRUNC -http://www.exlibrisgroup.org/display/CrossProductCC/TRUNC+-+URL+Truncator+%28tinyurl%29 - a locally developed small url link server, you could easily modify the cgi script to get a small url from a service like tinyurl.com, using their api.

SFX 3 does not support translation of target names and their fields. With this Target Displayer you can translate target and service public names as well as note and authentication fields at the target, service or portfolio level using translation files. The translation only works at the SFX Menu screen - not using the API nor anywhere else. An alternative (older) Target Displayer which uses inline translations found in the previously mentioned fields is also supplied.

Most OpenURL link resolvers are maintained by institutions, thus the services offered are selected and optimized to serve a specific target group, e.g. the staff of the Max Planck Society. Nevertheless, external users are sometime directed to the MPG/SFX link resolver because they found a corresponding link on a MPS web site or they searched for literature on the MPG edoc server. Therefore, we setup a link to OCLC's OpenURL Resolver Registry which can be used to redirect the request to a local link resolver. The service is offered only, if the request comes from an IP address which hasn't been recognized as being from MPS.

This code improves the display of Aleph holdings in the SFX menu (using the plugin/displayer mechanism). The standard Ex Libris code does not display the fields nicely in columns.
